Web Standards, Accessibility, and Usability Group of the Delaware Valley

Are you interested in Web Standards, Accessibility and Usability?

If you are a web developer living and working in the Delaware Valley, or a student of web development, and you’re looking to learn more about W3 and WAI standards and building websites to meet those standards in an innovative, beautiful, and powerful way using the latest in coding standards and technologies, then Refresh Delaware Valley might be the grassroots initiative you’ve been looking for. Here in DelVal we’re very new, but the precedent has already been set in other cities in North America and Europe, and soon, we hope, to be followed by the rest of the world.

Our plan is to do that in three ways– by providing a webplace for an online community and resource center, by having a meeting every month, and, eventually, by getting out into the schools in the community and spreading the word.

Come Join us!

We post all our Meetups at RefreshDelVal Webstandards Meetup Group, which is free to join and has a great notification service and forum, as well as a way for us to interact and meet with other groups. Please sign up if you wish to join us!

Donations toward the cost of the RefreshDelVal Meetup fee will be most welcome. Contact BJ for more information or to offer help.

Ideas for future meeting topics- Ruby/Rails, Educating decision makers about the need for a standardized accessible web, podcasting, CSS friendly applications, Design Eye for the Tabled Guy, Uses and Abuses of Ajax. Other suggestions gleefully welcome.

Do you want to help support the group? Take a peek at our RefreshDelVal CafePress Shop! The small markup helps offset group costs. We’ll be adding RefreshDelVal.org merchandise as time permits.
