Understanding Z-Index and Stacking Order in Good and Bad Browsers
Thierry from CSS-Discuss has developed a VERY cool tool to learn how CSS Z-Index and Stacking Order works in all browsers. You’re going to wanna do what I did and have IE open next to one of the good browsers and compare how IE does things. It will visually show you how IE gets it wrong! And since CSS-D is such a great resource, some explanations of what IE is doing were added by Ingo, the has-layout expert.
I have a pretty good understanding of how things work already, and it still showed me a couple surprises. Those of you who are on the css learning curve can surely get a fair bit of understanding out of playing with the colored blocks. I can think of worse ways to waste 20 or so minutes!
